Another Scrappy Saturday Challenge!

Hi all!  It's Saturday which means it's time for another Scrappy Saturday Challenge at Wee Memories!   I hope that your having a great weekend! This week's sponsor is
Third Coast Rubber Stamps!  And what a generous prize, a $25 gift certificate for there store!  This weeks challenge is In the Forest, things like trees, leaves, critters like squirrels, owls, or a deer!  Lots to choose from!  What a fun challenge!  And this challenge was chosen by our wonderful. DT member Ann !  When I came up with my card I imagined deep in the Forest and thought of kraft, and browns and bright greens and decided to play with a leaf stamp.  I wonder if this came to me from watching too much of the Twilight movies! (Hubby is out tonight so I wouldn't be surprised if I watch it again!)

I stamped the background Friends Definition by HA in brown ink, and stamped the leaf in moss green pigment and clear embossed it.  Added some ribbon and a button and have a great gender neutral get well soon card for next time I need it!

Hope that you come play with us this week at Wee Memories!  I can't wait to see your creations!  And don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's amazing cards!  Also have you entered my giveaways yet?  I have two ending this Monday August 30th HERE  and  HERE and another two ending Monday September 6 HERE and HERE!  Have a great week!  :>

Inspired by Ariel and another giveaway!

Hi everyone!  Hope your having a wonderful day!  My day was made so much better when I saw one of my card sets on the Hero Arts blog today for the Social Thursday!  I was having a bit of a rough day since I had such a bad sleep last night, didn't fall sleep until way too late!  It has really made my day!  I love the Hero Arts blog, and the flickr group and highly encourage you to come and join in on the fun and the challenges!  Hero Arts are my favorite stamps!  And the ladies on the blog are so awesome!   It's kinda funny since today was Clean and Simple (CAS) since I didn't know what CAS was until I asked Virginia Lu a few months ago!  I had been doing that style just hadn't realized it!

Also don't forget about the Scrappy Saturday Challenge at Wee Memories, it's sweets with ribbon on top!  I would love to see your creations!

Today I have something special!  If you remember the picture I posted from Carter's birthday on Saturday my daughter Ariel is wearing the cutest outfit!  It's actually my favorite of her summer outfits.  The wonderful Lin commented on Ariel's butterfly on her shirt.  I wrote her back and told her how I had a card idea in my head from that outfit and did she want to make a card too?  So we both made cards inspired by this outfit of Ariel's:

Seriously isn't this the sweetest?  As you know I work a bit at a Children's clothing store.  The reason is because I shopped there so much they told me I should work there and talked me into it!  I may enjoy dressing Ariel my kids too much.  But I try to only buy on sale!  I love this skirt so much and of course the shirt!  It's the butterfly that gets me!  Here is my card:

I clear embossed the flowers from the Hero Arts set Good thoughts because Ariel's shirt has a floral design on the brown (it's sheer flowers but with her tan you can't see it!) And made the scallops with my friend Charlotte's cricut!  I didn't know that some cartridges come with border cuts, how cool is that?  I layed them out and glued them together the way I wanted it to be than cut it to 4 1/4 to fit the card. And I colored and added rhinestones to the butterfly (another HA from the Antique Engravings set)  I didn't know where I was going to put the hello and was pleased that it fit in the scallops!  I can't wait to see what Lin has created!  Make sure to check her out here and leave her some love!

And today I have another giveaway!  My last one celebrating my blogaversary which was last week!  (Rather than a big blog candy I am doing 5 smaller giveaways to 5 different people)  Here is what I am giving away today:

pink flower and another giveaway!

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  I cannot believe that we are already at August 24th!  Summer is almost done :<  I don't usually find that August flies so fast like it did this year!  Hope your all having a great start to the week!  I have had a nice relaxing start after a busy busy and hot weekend!  Yesterday I had no mojo and went on a cleaning spree through my house like a maniac!  It sure needed it!  Thankfully it returned in the evening when I went to my friend Charlotte to craft with!  I had a great time!

I made another card for the current Hero Arts challenge.  I love this flower so much and after picking up this ribbon on the weekend at my LSS I wanted to play with pink!  Lately I have really been into ribbon, maybe it's because I finally have "mastered" tying the ribbon with the tails sideways instead of down the only way I used to be able to do it?  Which way do you like ribbon to be tied?  Anyways here is my card:

So fun to make!  I embossed the flower in white, and than used my ink pad to color it in, and than sprayed it with a mix of water and perfect pearls! I added some pink rhinestones, did you know my favorite color is pink?  I am sure that is not surprising.  :>

I have another giveaway today.  I apologize for the break I took in my giveaways last week.  Life got busy with working a few shifts (when I don't normally it's harder to adjust!) and Carter's birthday party.  I am sure you understand!  (Rather than a big blog candy I am doing 5 smaller giveaways to 5 different people)  Here is what I am giving away today:

It's another embossing folder by Cuttlebug, Candy Cane Stripe!  I love it!  I want to keep it for me they only had one at the LSS but I am giving it to one of you!  :>  Here are the deets on my giveaways (I added links to the others at the bottom of this post)

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge 19!

Hello!  I hope that your having a great weekend!  I am here with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  This week's challenge is sweet treats with ribbon on top!

This challenge is quite fitting for me.  Since I really like sweet treats!  Desserts, candy, chocolate oh my!  Right up my alley!  I have a major sweet tooth!  Jenny picked this challenge this week because it was my fellow DT member Kim's birthday this past week!

This week's sponsor is a company you all know and love May Arts!  They have such great ribbon!

I wanted to make a fun birthday card:

Today we had my son Carter's 2nd birthday party!  The other day when thinking of what I should make, cupcakes or cake I thought of using a cupcake on my card.  And than I thought of using Perfect Pearls by Ranger as frosting and sprinkled some real sprinkles on it and let it dry!  I wasn't sure if it would work, but it did pretty well.  It has such a nice effect!  It takes a long time to dry, and once you sprinkle the sprinkles leave them wherever they fall as they do bleed a bit of color.

Carter's party went so well today!  The weather was perfect for the park, hot but not sticky! A lot of our friends and family took the time to free up busy summer schedules to join us and celebrate!  And we all enjoyed the BBQ!  Here is my favorite photo of the day:

I love my family!  Can you tell that Carter's two year old molars are right on schedule?

I will be back on Monday and continue with my giveaways, I am sorry I had to put a delay.  BTW I have two other giveaways in the posts after this...  Life got so busy and I want to enjoy the giveaways instead of feeling all rushed!

Happy Birthday Carter! And a giveaway!

Hello all!  I hope that you are doing well!  I hope you enjoyed the Lawn Fawn Blog Hop for Cards for Kids yesterday.  I have been!  There is still time to hop and have a chance to win prizes, see my post under this!

And also have you played with us at Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge yet this week?  There's something for everyone with the brads, bling or buttons challenge!  There is still time to play with the challenge ending tomorrow (friday) at 11:59 pst.

By the way this is a super long post but there is a giveaway at the end!  Don't miss it!

I had planned to blog again yesterday with a card and a giveaway celebrating my blogaversary but I took my kids to Tinkertown (kids amusement park) With 13 of there friends and there mommies (5) We ended up spending the whole day there (from just shy of opening until when they closed!)  It got so slow around dinner time and it was hard to leave since the lines were gone the weather wasn't hot and well the kids were behaving so well still!  This resulted in a very tired me and I basically drove home walked into the door and onto the couch and Chad took over daddy duties of feeding and putting the kids to bed.  I could barely walk!  I took a hot bath and went to bed early!  Lots of fun and I am glad we stayed so long but wow was I tired!

So a card, this one has been in my head for a while.  May be my first ever single layer card, I wanted to use all the stamps from this Kiss From the Sun set by Hero Arts, love this set!

And today is my sweet baby boy's 2nd Birthday!  Happy Birthday Carter!  I can't beleive it's been two years since God blessed me with a boy!  You are such a joy, so full of energy (just like me when I was little!) and your so happy!  This past week you must have decided to talk since your saying all sorts of words that we didn't know you knew!  Your so smart and your love of balls shall make for you being very involved in sports everyone thinks!  I am sad that your molars have decided to come in right now that you've had a fever and don't seem to be yourself, although we are enjoying your cuddles that you need right now!  I thought it would be nice to share some photo's of Carter these past two years:

Right after you were born, looking all suprised at how fast that was!  (Arrived at the hospital at 1:20, born at 1:45, 15 minutes of pushing!)

Love this photo!

This is one of my favorite photos.  Ariel loved you from the minute she met you.

So cute at almost 3 months!

Love the bowtie!

One of my favorite photos of you as a baby.  You wore this hat a lot (I always thought when I had a baby boy I would put hats like this on him!)

Strawberry picking!

Love your smile!

Happy 1st Birthday!  I made your hat!

Getting into something!  Which is what you do often!

Someone likes to help mommy cook!

Summer brought bleached out hair, and a tanned skull since you hated your hats!

Well I may have gone a bit crazy.  There are even more cute photos to share but I will stop.  Looking through his photos also leave me with another thought.  I get pretty good photos of my kids, I should scrapbook!

If your still here reading this yay you made it to my giveaway time!  (Rather than a big blog candy I am doing 5 smaller giveaways to 5 different people) Here is today's giveaway:

A cuttlebug folder, See Spots!  This is a new one, I got so many comments on the folder when I made a card with it a bit ago so I thought it would be fun to buy another and give it away!

The deets on winning this:

You have to be a follower to my blog.

Lawn Fawn Hearts for Kids Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Lawn Fawn Hearts Cards for Kids Blog Hop! We have all come together today to make cards for a wonderful cause, Cards for Kids! We hope to encourage you to also make cards for this great cause and have fun along the way, too! So please hop along with us, and make sure to leave comments as there will be prizes for commenters and participants! So let's get going! Also, if you are lost in the hop, you can always start at the beginning at the Lawn Fawn blog. Thank you so much for hopping along with us today!

Hi there, welcome to my blog!  I hope you have come from the talented Mary Dawn . When I saw that the talented Kelly Marie Alvarez was putting together a blog hop for Cards for Kids I had to take part because I love the Cards for Kids card drive.  And any excuse to make more cards for them!  So happy your here!  While you are reading this I am at a kids amusement park with my two kids and 13 of there friends and mommies.  Please pray for me!

I created a set of cards using a fish set from Hero Arts, because there are a lot of good fish jokes online!  And I really like to make cards for the kids with jokes, I find it so easy to find jokes that co ordinate with stamp images that I have.

What fish goes up the river at 100mph?
      A motor pike!

What lives under the sear and carries a lot of people?
     An Octobus!

What fish are musical?
     Tuna fish!

I stamped the fish and than colored them in with pencils. I got the idea of the fish going in different directions from my son Carter's sleeper!  What I did to make a layout for the fish was place the stamps on my fiskars stamp press in a design and than turned it to stamp the fish differently.  I thought I would share this since it made it so much easier.  Here is a photo of my stamp press and my stamps on it, please ignore how lovingly used it looks:

Well there you go thank you for hopping on over here!  Your next stop is the talented Lucy.  I can't wait to see what she has created!

Also just to let you know today is my blogaversary and I am doing little giveaways everyday this week, there is a giveaway the post before this, and later on today I will do another.  :>  Enjoy the hop!

hello and a giveaway

Happy Tuesday!  We are spending the day at home today again, have a lot planned for the rest of the week though!  Today I have a sweet hello card I made for the current challenge at Hero Arts:

I wanted to color some dolls in and came up with this fun card.  I colored her shorts plaid by coloring the lines first with the hot pink, than the orange after.  Fun! The orange ribbon is like the hot pink ribbon I have been using lately, but has better "strength" to it and tied better.  When I was at my LSS I saw that they sold ribbon by the meter so I picked up a few of the two colors.

Today going along with celebrating my Blogaversary week I have another giveaway:  (Rather than a big blog candy I am doing 5 smaller giveaways to 5 different people)  By the way click here to see my first post written a year ago where I introduce myself (and how young my kids look!), I thought it was interesting when I read this:  "This blog is dedicated to my paper crafting and my life."  Quite true since I share so much of both!

The deets on winning this:

You have to be a follower to my blog.

I would very much appreciate it if you would mention my giveaways this week on your blog, facebook, twitter your choice.  You do not have to do a separate post about it or even share photos maybe just mention it with a link.  And you don't have to do one for each giveaway either, you could wait until I post all the giveaways if you would like.

Thank you so much to all of you for being so wonderful!

EBTKS Baby Card and a giveaway!

Hello all!  Happy Monday!  Is today the worst day of the week for you?  Currently with being an stay at home mommy it's not so bad, I usually take it as a relaxing day.  A cleaning up after the weekend day also!  Today I have a giveaway but first a card!

On Saturday I bought some doilies and than on Sunday I saw the challenge at Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge and thought to myself that may work!  I decided to make a baby card as many friends are pregnant right now.  A few with baby #3 and one even with baby #4!  I love babies so this is quite exciting for me!  And it even gets me in the mood for another baby, but sadly probably not.  I don't have the easiest pregnancies (unexplainable seizures in both!) so no more babies for me.  But that's okay as I love the two that I have.  And really it's always more fun to love on other people's babies and hand them back when it's time, no middle of the night nursing! Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I made a baby girl card, because someone is bound to have a girl, hopefully!  I sponged two different pink inks on the edge of the doily.  And used butterflies from Hero Arts Antique Engravings. I love the soft feel of this card, perfect for a baby!

On Wednesday August 16 it will be my Blogaversary!  Yay I can't believe it's been a year already!  I am so thankful and blessed by all of you who follow my blog and make comments on my posts.  I appreciate you all so much since you add so much to my life.  It's so kind and uplifting to read the kind comments you make on my cards!  You make me feel so talented!  Like a lot of others I started to put together some blog candy to thank you!  I was collecting things to make one than I thought to myself why not give one thing away for 5 days?  If you know me I like to do things differently!  I thought it would be more fun, and nice to give things away to 5 people instead of just one person.  It won't be as big for the winners but it's always nice to win something!  Than I decided for today prize the first one I would draw from this past week's comments made on my blog. That way I could thank you for all the sweet wonderful comments you have made on my blog.  I won't do it this way for the other giveaways, thought it would be fitting for the first.  I had no clue how to do that on random.org for so many posts,  so I did it the old fashion way.  I wrote down all your names from this past week and put them in Carter's hat (he never wears it may as well get some use for it) and had Ariel draw a name!  Here is a picture of that:

Yay the wonderful Alice  I would be happy for whoever won since you are all so kind, but we can all agree that Alice is wonderful and so talented!  Here is what you have won:  Please flickr mail me your address and I will send it out!

I can't wait for tomorrow!  It's so fun to give things away!

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge 18

Happy weekend!  Hope that this one is a great one for you!  The weather is not great over here, it's cool and rainy and humid.  Oh well we did spend a lot of time outside the past couple of weeks.  And what's better on a rainy day to do than go shopping?  And I am going to shop for my two favorite things: children's clothes and papercrafts items!  :>  Ariel has been gone for 2 nights at the cabin with my inlaws and her girl cousins, and comes home later!  So it's just me an my little boy Carter.  Should be interesting!

Today I am here with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!  We have a terrific sponsor this week Oh My Crafts!  And the prize is amazing, a Cuttlebug 10 pack to our winner!
The challenge this week is Buttons, Brads, and Bling!  Who doesn't love one or all of those?  You can use one, two or all of them!  I decided to use buttons as I am a button girl.  I just love them!  Here is my card:

All Hero Arts on this card! I hand stitched the stems, I don't know I just seem to be into stitching these days!  :>  I also was finally able to master tying the bow with the tails to the side, not to the bottom like I normally do.  I tie my bows upside down which meant that any video I watched or friends showing me how to do it didn't help!  The buttons are all from different places, I was so happy to find the orange one that it matched my pp it's from the stash my mom gave me, the pink is PTI, the blue and grey is Making Memories!  The pp is one of my fav's (I love stripe pp) from Kauser.  I also have to say that I am very much enjoying gray these days, almost as much as my beloved kraft!

I really hope that you will join us and play this week!  I cannot wait to see your creations!  Make sure to go to the Wee Memories blog to see more wonderful creations from my fabulous DT members.  What a creative bunch of ladies, so lucky to be DT with them!   And by the way, make sure to check back on Monday.  I may just have a giveaway...

first etsy inspired

Hi all!  Hope your having a great Thursday!  This week has been an odd one, I can't seem to keep my days straight and throughout the day think it's actually another.  Yesterday I could have sworn was Thursday!  Weird!  So happy to see my card on the Create blog today for the Cards challenge, you can see it here.  Way to make my day!

But you know what made my day even more?  I was cuddling Carter after his nap and after a bit he tried to get away and I said to him, no cuddle mommy!  Lately he has been starting to talk on his own a lot more and he said "Cuddle" very sweetly than "Love You!'  In his most adorable cute voice, oh how my heart melted!  Ariel is gone for 2 nights with Chad's parents and a few of her girl cousins so I am looking forward to some mommy and Carter time!

Today I have a card for the Etsy Inspired challenge.  This is my first time playing with there challenge!  And it's a great time to do so with it being there 100th challenge, such great prizes!  Loved looking through Cath Walter's Etsy store!  Here is what I found inspiration in:

So pretty isn't it?  Here is my card:

I loved the pink butterfly and I added some other colors (can't help but love these colors right now)  I don't have a musical stamp (yet! did you see the new Hero Arts background one yet?) So I used my friends def background. And also clear embossed the Cling dots by HA on all the white, and stamped Antique Brocade with Broken China Distress Ink.

I think it's quite funny that as I wrote this post it dawned on me that I could hear flushing, I caught Carter standing by the toilet flushing it over and over!  I started the post with how sweet he is, and ended it with how much of a boy he is!

Have a great weekend see you Saturday with another Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!

It's going to be a wonderful week!

Hi friends!  This week is going to be such a wonderful week for me as Jill Foster who has a great blog called Inspired By... is inspired by me!  You can check it out here  I am sure you know how thrilling this is for me!  Jill is super talented and always features such talented people on her blog I am shocked that she picked me! And honored, and giddy with happiness!  I am looking forward each day to seeing what card of mine she has picked and to see her amazing card she makes!

Hope that your weekend went well.  Mine was quite busy with a great girls night out, got home at 1:40 am since we last track of time and well girls love to talk!  And a couple friend of ours and there kids came over Sunday night so that was fun!  The weather is so very hot and humid over here that today I didn't go outside with the kids!  It's just way too hot and I thought we needed a break from it.  I am so thankful that we have air conditioning for sure right now!

Today I have a fun card to share with you:

My mother in law gave me the legs of an old pair of jeans (I think she made shorts) and right away I thought of stamping this pant stamp on them!  All the clothes are fabric, the bright pink is an old tank top of Ariel's, and the dress is from some bloomers of hers!  I stamped them with staz on and it worked fine!  I thought it would be fun to have them hanging off the branch but wanted the branch to be longer so I stamped part of the branch and than using post it notes stamped the rest.

When I went to look for the card photo I saw some photos I took on Saturday night:

This is my view as I chased Carter down the street!  He is super fast he got quite far!  I don't usually let him walk around the house but that morning he did this:

He got into the flour!  And than he got another outfit all wet and I was tired of dressing him and was about to put him in his pj's when Ariel let him outside!  (I was bbqing and she was joining me)  It was quite funny to see him running around with only his diaper on!  The neighbors thought it was quite funny also!

Have a great week!  Time for me to go to bed!
