Mom your Amazing!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Happy Monday!  The start to yet another week!  This week has fun things in store and so far no not fun things (you know like the dentist!)  May will be here soon!  We enjoyed a lovely weekend, a big birthday party on Saturday.  The weather finally turned for the better and we were able to go for a nice long walk to the donut shop nearby for a treat!  And visiting some local parks!  With our move we can now walk to two decent parks in just a few minutes, first time living closer to parks!  Yesterday both kids played outside for hours with the a new friend the neighbor girl who is the same age as Ariel!  After a really long winter you really appreciate that!  It was a dream to put them to bed last night they were so tired!

I've started making Mother's Day cards!  With Mother's Day less than two weeks away it's on my mind and I am getting started on my gifts and cards!  After making my last card the sentiment You are Simply Amazing I thought to myself, if I add Mom to this it would be perfect for Mother's Day so yesterday I took a few moments while the kids were outside and sat down and made this card:

Had an idea and without stressing threw this card together! I used paper from My Minds Eye's  Collectable Memorable 6 by 6 pad, I love floral paper but it doesn't make it's way to my cards that much, not sure why!  But this time I decided to go with it!  Die cut my new polariod die by Lawn Fawn and stamped the sentiment on it.  Die cut letters from Hero Arts Uppercase Alphabet Fancy die!  Stamped the Scalloped  Flower by Hero Arts along with tropical leaves!  Here's a close up:

Finished making this card and although I had many ideas for more the kids needed me!  Oh well I did make another card when the kids went to bed early (yay!)

I am entering this card into Simon Says Stamps's Anything Goes challenge!  Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win April's RAK featured on the sidebar!

Simply Amazing Watercolour Card!

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's Friday!  YAY!  We have a fun weekend ahead of us!  So thankful for sunny skies and the warmest day so far this Spring!  Yay for that!  Today I am popping in with a card I made for The Wonder of Watercolour challenge at Moxie Fab World!  I love watercolor and thought it would be fun to play with Hero Arts Looped Flower background! I stamped and heat embossed white powder the background onto some watercolor paper. I pulled out three Tattered Angels Spray Mist- Pink Poodle (light pink) Dutch Tulip (darker pink) and Thatched Roof Cottage (yellow) and sprayed away!  Because of the heavy watercolor paper I was able to spray a lot and play with it and spray more than once.  It was so fun!

I love how it turned out!  It blended so beautifully!  I decided to focus on the lovely backgound and just added a sentiment strip, love this little sentiment set from WPlus9 Design Studio I Quite Like You! Also added some enamel dots! It's also quite sparkly you can sorta see it in this photo:

I am also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp Challenge since it's Anything Goes!

This week was a great week full of family fun!  Tuesday Carter was invited to a glow bowling party, since he's still little and it involved bowling balls I stayed!  Chad and Ariel showed up early to pick us up (which was fine) they bowled too!  We all had so much fun bowling!  I think Carter is finally trustable with a bowling ball!  Yay!  Carter is so excited it's only recently that his friends have started having just boy birthday parties.  After asking Ariel for a long time Can I come too ? To the parties she was invited to he gets to go to a party that she can't come too, and he really likes to tell her about that!  LOL  He has one next Sunday too at Petland and Ariel is quite jealous! Took a trip to Ikea on Wednesday and the kids love going in the Smalland there, they ask for it!  Thursday Chad and I worked in the morning and since both kids were in school we had an afternoon date and went to see Oblivion.  Next time before Chad quickly buys tickets for a movie I won't say yes because Tom Cruise is in it!  Not the biggest Sci-Fi fan over here.  I went for a few walks around the theatre, I closed my eyes and plugged my ears and told Chad sorry but I am playing with the iphone there is hardly anyone here and I can't focus on this movie!  (I did hide the phone under the jacket so it wasn't that glaring) I like suspense movies but future suspense movies scare me!  Very much so!  Oh well it was a good movie.  And hopefully all the random questions I've been asking Chad about the movie is enough to remind him not to bring me to a movie like that again!

That's it for me!  Hope you have a weekend to remember!

You're The Best!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Happy Wednesday!  Spent my morning with my daughters class on a field trip to the Art Gallery!  Much fun!  I usually dread the bus ride but thankful for a open window and fresh air, even if it was noisy!  Tonight I am going shopping and coffee with a good friend!  :>

I wanted to stop by and share a masculine card!  I recently picked up some paper from Basic Grey's Bowties line!  I paired it with Wplus9 Design Studios Write on Ribbon stamp and die set!

Masculine papers make it so much easier to make a masculine card!  The colors are also so fresh to me which is perfect for Spring!  I made this card and it needed something, it was just missing something so I reluctantly pulled out my enamel dots, do I really want to waste use my enamel dots on a masculine card?  This card? I did and it made the card shine! This sentiment is great for birthday or any other time I may need a masculine card!

Well that's it for me!  Off to help with getting homework and piano practice done before I go out!  :>  Hope you've got spring where you are, sadly we got snow the other day but at least it's almost all melted!

Alphabet Hi!

Hello!  And it's Friday!  Yay!  We have a busy but should be fun weekend ahead of us!  Today I wanted to pop in and share a card I made with the Hero arts Fancy Die, Upper Case Alphabet!  I got this die a while ago now and have used it but not as a whole.  What do you do with your alphabet dies?  Do you break them apart of keep them together?  I asked this question on facebook and a lot of the answers were to keep it together and make a few cards like that before cutting it up.  So I listened, than I made nothing of it together!  LOL  Finally I got an idea.  I think I may cut it up now, I really would like to do some negative word cutting and you have to break it up to do that.  I am happy that I waited though and did make a card with the whole alphabet:

Pretty CAS I simply die cut the whole alphabet than die cut again the HI with Hawaiian Shores blue and added a strip of the Hblue at the bottom and some twine!  I made the card was happy with it took photos went to blog and realized hey maybe I should add all the little middle pieces!  Of course I had thrown them all away so I die cut it again (not a problem as the act of die cutting is so fun!) And fixed my card!

Fitting to make a alphabet card when I've been working on the alphabet with Carter everyday!  He's doing great!  But the more we read SuperHero ABC's the more it will stay put in his head, right?

Well that's it for me!  I am still feeling a bit under the weather so the couch and my kobo are quite appealing right now!

A Flower and some Chevron

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  Enjoyed a morning out with Carter at play group!  Not feeling my best so relaxing on the couch, well as much as I can with a busy 4 year old!  Although he ran around A LOT this morning so cuddling seems to be something he wants!  Today I am popping in with a card for CASual Friday's challenge of Chevron's and Flowers!  Did they say FLOWERS?  I've been enjoying blog land I think almost everyone is taking part in this challenge!  Here is my card:

I actually made this card for a dear crafty friend who hasn't been feeling too well.  Mailed it yesterday! I was about to pull out pink and than changed my mind and remembered how pretty yellow is with grey!  All Hero Arts stamps for this:  Zig Zag for the chevron (in CTMH slate) scalloped flower (in HA's butterball) Tropical leaf (moss green by colorbox)  and Feel better soon sentiment!  Added a strip of HA's layering paper and there you go.  I was actually going to put the zig zag on the bottom but the sentiment would not fit and it didn't work so I swapped it around!

I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Challenge of April Showers and/or Spring Flowers!  I've got flowers down pat!

I have a funny story for you.  Last night I was reading the new Jane Green book Family Pictures on my kobo.  The book went to page 306 on it, and it was getting late but than I noticed I was on page 290 well 16 pages I've got to finish this book.  I keep reading for a while...  And than noticed I was on page 273, huh?  Either a) I was so tired I misread the book numbers b) my kobo played a game on me!  It may really have been both but I quickly thought what 30 pages?  I am going to bed.  :>

A friend also asked me to make a brooch for someone so I made this lovely teal one, and will add it to my shop!

Looks great on my red jacket, I think I will make one for me too!
Until next time!

Lovely Mum's!

Hello!  Happy Monday!  It's a windy cool day over here, at least it's sunny, not sure when Spring will be coming as it snowed again yesterday!  Today I am here to share a card I made for the Mama Elephant sketch challenge!  With my love of flower stamps I suppose it comes as no surprise that I had to have the Lovely Mum's set!  If you've been following me for a bit you will also know how much I love heat embossing.  Not sure what it is but I do love it.  Not going to lie that since gold embossing is quite trendy right now I am one happy girl!  If I could emboss all day I would!  Yay for gold!  I came up with this card idea while I put the kids to bed.  Chad was out with some guys, so with the movie Here Comes the Boom (he saw it I didn't yet) I set to work and created this:

Here is the sketch:

I stamped and embossed all the flowers from the set, I masked the flowers as I did it.  I did each flower at a time stamp pour powder heat emboss wait till cool put mask over top repeat.  It was going so great! mentioned in my last post I don't usually not so much anymore stamp at night while making this card I remembered why.  I screwed up on the very LAST flower!  COME ON!  Are you kidding me?  By this time it was close to 11!  I was so excited about my card idea, the house was quiet, who knew if I would follow through tomorrow am!  I had to make it now!  Than when I made the mistake I knew why I don't usually....    Instead of leaving it (I came so far!) I had to finish it.  And that's how I ended up making my card even better!  I heat embossed two of the flowers and fussy cut them, one to cover up my mistake the other to go with the design!  Finished with a strip of gold cardstock, some sequins and heat embossing one of my favorite ME sentiments!

Yesterday after church we went for lunch with some friends and there three kids!  It was quite fun!  As the kids get bigger it's easier to go out with them to restaurants and friends and there kids!  My friend called me later though to ask how my kids were, her son threw up when they got to there van and her daughter was non stop!  Oh dear! So far so good over here!

Oh and here is Saturday night fun when you have kids:

I don't think the grocery store we usually shop at have these carts!  Both kids just managed to fit in them and I wheeled and spinned them around even though I came for 1 item!  They loved it!  :>  So did I!  Wouldn't trade it for anything...

Aqua, Navy and Green Wreath!

Hello!  Saturday is here again!  I am enjoying a lazy Saturday so far!  Went swimming last night as a family!  I did a few laps and wow did that wear me out!  Such great exercise!  We live quite close to a great pool with a great kiddie pool!  Sad though while we swam indoors we could see fluffy snow falling down!  It really is a nice winter we are having this spring!  :<  I was lucky this morning the kids and Chad let me sleep in, till 9:30!  Than I enjoyed a long leisurely bath!  I know I know all you mother's are quite jealous!

Today I have a wreath to share that I am entering into Moxie Fab World's challenge of Spring Home Decor!  While this wreath is not made from paper I did use paper craft companies products in this wreath.  I used Spellbinders circle dies along with my sizzix big shot and I used Taylored Expressions felt!  I was unsure if I should enter my wreath but I may as well try right?

You can find this wreath in my etsy shop here!  I love the color combo of this wreath!  It's quite modern spring colors!  If your on facebook or instagram you may have seen how I shared a photo fo the wreath with pearls and without and asked pearls yes or no?  Well over 20 people replied the same answer, pearls yes!  Pearls it is!  I am happy to share that I listed this wreath on Monday and on Wednesday morning it sold!  :>  I have relisted it as I can make it again!  This week has been a great etsy week, 3 sales, 2 wreaths and 1 baby headband!  My first baby headband etsy sale (have sold a bunch locally)  I really enjoy creating and if your curious when I do stuff well in the evenings I sit at the dining table creating while watching tv with Chad until I am too tired!  Often later into the night I can make felt flowers but I can't stamp straight so I make wreaths and such! I also take a wreath in the car and while Chad is driving I wrap a wreath!  We do a lot of stuff together since we work together and I can get a lot done!

Well that's it for me today!  The kids are playing really well right now so I am going to try to go and stamp!  Planning to take them to the library but saving it till they aren't playing nicely!  :>

Guest at Sweet Stamp Shop!

Hello!  Hope your having a great day!  I am happy to share that today I am a guest designer for the Sweet Stamp Shop up on there blog!  I got to work with a few sets from there newest release!  They really are great stamps!

The first set Today was I created this card, I stamped a background with all the words and feelings, tiring, funny interesting, unforgettable, happy, fun and tough in grey and than in bright colors I stamped how today was..

For the second card I used the graph image from the set along with the describing words of the day!  I also used washi (my second card with it) super enjoying it!

For my next card I worked with the cute stamp set kissing and made a chalkboard card with 3 different colored embossing, boy do I love the chalkboard technique!

And for my last card I used Let's Chat!  And made a true CAS card:
And for my last card I used Let's Chat!  And made a true CAS card!  I hope you enjoyed my projects!

Today Carter had his kindergarten readiness day!  They did assessments with the kids while the parents listened to how kindergarten works and all that.  It's hard to believe that my baby will be entering kindergarten this fall!  Wow where has the time gone?  He loves preschool and going to school so that makes it a lot easier!  Kindergarten is part time but grade 1 does not, next year will be my last year "at home"  (Even though I work in real estate my priority is being at home with Carter on his off days)  It's a different stage of life that is coming soon and I have so enjoyed this stage.  It is sad but I think being able to be home with them when they are off school helps and is something I want to be able to do.

Don't Forget to Read this:

I also wanted to share that each month I will be doing a  RAK (Random act of kindness)  From all the comments left on my blog this month of April I will draw for a winner of something crafty.  This month it's this background by Hero Arts. I am quite appreciative of all the time you take to leave me comments and this is my thank you.  This is also an incentive to comment, I love interacting (I talk a lot) and enjoy reading what you have to say of my creations and posts!  :>  (oh and just in case some of you lovely spam commenters actually read this, your comments don't count!)

My Favorite!

Hello!  It's Easter Monday!  Hope you had a wonderful Easter!  Today the kids didn't have school as they attend a Christian school (Easter Monday is an approved religious holiday!)  It's great as Easter is always busy!  We enjoyed a morning at home where I crafted a bit (finding I craft the best in the morning now) and than we spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum (they love it there!) Today I made this spring card:

I love this color combo! I started by slightly inking up the edges of the card with Hero arts Tide Pool ink.  Than  I die cut Chloe's Stem by Memory Box with bright yellow bazill cardstock and Hawaiian shores cardstock by PTI.  The polka dots stamped about is from Sweet Stamp Shops Kiss Me set and the sentiment is from Mama's Elephant!  I used Hero arts Wet Cement and Tide Pool inks along with Memento's Dandelion!   And this may be my first card using washi.  Yes I did say my first card  While I've had washi for a while I haven't used it.  Not sure why.  BUT on Saturday while browsing a local selling site I happened to see someone selling a whole bunch of washi at a great price.  And who could resisit?

And since this is my first card using washi I may as well enter it into Cath's Moxie Fab World the Washi Tape Challenge!  Oh and also entering this into Simon Says Stamps Anything Goes challenge, I know I am not the only one who dreams of winning that prize!

Last week we went and had Spring photos of the kids in there Easter clothes!  Wow they turned out amazing!  Here is a snap I took of the photo:

I started this blog the day before Carter turned one and he is 4 and a half already!  Ariel is 7 and almost a half so I know for some of you you can really see how they are growing up and thinking how fast it is!  It really is!  Chad and I really saw it when looking at the proofs we kept commenting on how much older they looked!  I love this photo it really is the sweetest!
